Extension Program Overview

I have developed a strong and nationally recognized program that addresses critical farm management issues relevant to Iowa, New York, and the U.S., including the economics of farmland and cropping systems, analysis of technology adoption, international agriculture and agricultural trade, land management practices and nutrient reduction issues.

My extension program has four interrelated focus areas: (1) the analysis of U.S. farmland market; (2) the growing significance of China and Chinese agriculture to U.S. agricultural economy; (3) conservation practice and technology adoption by row crop and specialty crop growers; (4) the interplay between agricultural production, land management decisions, and soil and water quality. 

My extension program has received national and university awards, including the 2019 AAEA Bruce Garner Memorial Prize for Applied Policy Analysis Award, the 2021 AAEA Distinguished Extension/Outreach Program Award, Individual: Less than Ten Years’ Experience, the 2021 Young Professional Achievement Award from the Ohio State University CFAES Alumni Society, the 2025 D. Howard Doane Award from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, the 2024 Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) the 2021 Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Early Achievement Award,  Early Achievement Award in Extension and Outreach and Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean’s Citation for Extraordinary Contributions in 2020.
